Project VIP4SME presented at the PATLIB 2018 conference!
Two representatives of the VIP4SME consortium – Dr. Thomas Fischer (Fraunhofer IAO / project coordinator) and Dr. Udo Gennari (Business Upper Austria – OÖ Wirtschaftsagentur GmbH / IP expert) actively participated in the EPO's 2018 PATLIB conference in Ljubljana, Slovenia on 3 and 4 May 2018.
Dr. Fischer within the plenary session presented the topic „IP services developed under the EU's VIP4SME project suitable for PATLIB“.
Dr. Gennari within the breakout session presented and discussed the issue „New IP tools of special interest to PATLIB centres: mapping, semantic search, IP at trade fairs, events, etc“.
Around 200 conference participants from 36 countries had a possibility to discuss how best to support companies and inventors through their patent information services. The event, organised annually since 1990, brings together staff of patent information centres to share their experience and knowledge in providing information and advice on intellectual property at local level.

On November 28 - 30 2016 was organized the VIP4SME project management board meeting and the Steering committee meeting in Venice, Italy. More than 40 project partners from European countries, associated partners (mostly national Intellectual Property and Patent offices) and EASME (Executive Agency for SMEs, European Commission) discussed on how can be the IP support for SMEs improved. An important part of the event was dedicated to practical training on IP tools.
