The toolbox is a repository of best practices concerning services on IP  (including enforcement) provided to SMEs throughout Europe.

The toolbox is dedicated to national intellectual property  offices (IPOs) and intermediaries (such as chambers of commerce, PATLIB, technological parks, etc) with an institutional role in the field of intellectual property. It is a collection of intellectual property tools, based upon existing available material that has already been tested successfully. Those tools are used to deliver services to companies.

The tools contain specific instructions or manuals and instruments describing how to deliver the service, e.g. what is needed for setting up coordination between authorities or for setting up a website, a questionnaire used in an audit (on paper or in electronic form) or some specific training material for training courses. Hands on steps are described on how to reach the final product - the service - and make that service active.

The toolbox supports the provision of services according to the needs and the knowledge level of the end-users, specially small and medium sized innovative enterprises.

This toolbox has been developed within the project “IP Awareness and Enforcement: Modular Based Actions for SMEs” (IPeuropAware), which is financed by the CIP Programme, DG Enterprise and Industry of the European Commission and managed by the EACI.
