1. General presentation

1.1 Overview

The Latvian government has developed state support programmes for small and medium-sized enterprises registered in Latvia.

The programmes for 2007-2013 support development of new products, services and technologies and include grants for the registration of industrial property rights - patents, industrial designs, topographies of semiconductor products, plant varieties.

Maximum amount of support is from 35%-45%, but not more as LVL 20,000 (~ EUR 28,500) for one merchant for one industrial property rights registration project.
