Rome (Italy), 10th June 2010: "IPR and Fight against Counterfeiting"

Unioncamere Lazio, the Enterprise Europe Network in Rome and the Chamber of Commerce of Venice under the coordination of the Directorate General for combating Counterfeiting-Italian Patent and Trademark Office of Ministry of Economic Development, in the framework of the “IPeuropAware” project, is organising the seminar “IPR and Fight against Counterfeiting- Positive actions aiming to support Italian SMEs in the fight against counterfeiting” to be held in Rome (Italy) on 10th June 2010.

To help SMEs make use of the wide range of instruments available to protect intellectual property, the EU-funded project “IPeuropAware – IP Awareness and Enforcement: Modular Based Actions for SMEs”, has developed manuals for industries that are particularly hard hit by counterfeiting (textiles, furniture, leather goods and shoes) to help them combat intellectual property right infringement resulting from brand and product piracy. The aim of this event is to present these manuals, but it will also include presentations that will give attendees a unique opportunity to obtain a comprehensive overview of the possibilities available to protect own brands and products in Europe and worldwide, including presentations of different case studies, regarding protection and fight against counterfeiting and examples of European best practices.
