To keep your patent in force annuity fees must be paid. Annuity fees have to be paid annually starting with the third year from the filing of the application for a patent. The renewal payment due date is the last day of the month of the anniversary of the filing date; for example if an application is filed on 10 May, the renewal payment due date will be 31 May.
