Prepare your design application:

-check if your design has not already been registered, in our web http://www.oepm.es or request a paid search to the SPTO.

- Your illustrations must present a clear and complete picture of your design.

You prepare and file an Application Form 3201 Diseño Industrial”, according to the examples annex to it.The application cannot cover more than 50 designs which must belong to the same class of goods. This restriction shall not apply in the case of two-dimensional decorations.

You pay the application fee.

step 3 We respond by issuing a filing receipt which includes an application number and a filing date .
step 4 We carry out an examination to make sure your application meets certain formal requirements. We will notify you of any infringement of the law detected and shall give you a period of one month or two months depending of the cases, in which to respond.
step 5 If the application is not defective or the defects have been remedied in time, the registration of the Spanish Industrial Design is recorded in the Designs database (Modindu) and published in the Spanish electronic Designs Gazette (Diseños Industriales) at http://www.oepm.es, which provides an opportunity for anyone to challenge the validity of registered designs, to deposit in two months time limit an opposition.
step 6 If your application meets all the legal requirements when we get it, you can collect the registration certificate.
